Hertsmere Community Transport (HCT) began operating in August 2001 as a project of Hertsmere Community Voluntary Support HCVS. HCT became incorporated as a company in November 2007 and registered as a charity in March 2008.
Services currently provided are:
The Community Car Scheme (Borehamwood and Potters Bar)
The Wheelchair Accessible Car
The Shopper Scheme (Hertsmere wide)
Minibus Hire Service (with driver)
HCT currently has a contract with Hertsmere Children’s Centres to provide a service two mornings a week. Our new minibus is used for this, and in addition, is used two mornings a week on the Shopper Scheme, and one afternoon a week for a Crossroads Carers group. It is then available to take on other requests from community groups who require a minibus with a driver.
HCT has a committed workforce of paid staff, volunteers drivers and trustees, and a history of planned expansion and innovation. HCT is working towards financial independence in its core services.
